Another central Minnesota lake is infested with zebra mussels. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says a property owner found a zebra mussel attached to a native mussel in Lake Stella in Meeker County.

Zebra mussels have been found in two more central Minnesota lakes. The DNR says the invasive species have been confirmed in Clearwater Lake in Wright and Stearns Counties, and in Ruth Lake in Crow Wing County.

A Morrison County lake will be designated as infested waters after zebra mussels were discovered last week. Fish Trap Lake is the first lake in Morrison County to be confirmed to have the invasive species.

More boat inspectors are on patrol at Minnesota lakes and rivers to help stop the spread of invasive species, including zebra mussels.

It turns out that an effort to rid Christmas Lake of zebra mussels has not succeeded.

As many as 350 people with a stake in battling invasive aquatic species will meet in St. Cloud for a two day summit starting Tuesday.
