Becker Power Plant Outage Continues After Fire

The Sherco 3 power plant near Becker remains out of service after a weekend fire. A spokesman for Xcel Energy says the coal-fired plant had been down since mid-September for routine maintenance.

Three students from St. Cloud State University have designed a new scooter for Xcel Energy. The special scooter was built to allow Xcel engineers and technicians to inspect their 6 to 7 feet diameter concrete tubes that are used as a form of drainage system.
