The Waite Park youth baseball team won 3-0 over Westfield, Massachusetts in their first pool play game of the 13AAA Babe Ruth World Series in Kitsap, Washington. Joey Atkinson threw a no hitter with 5 walks and 2 strikeouts to get the win. Atkinson also had 2 hits and 2 RBIs for the Silverstars.

The Waite Park 13AAA youth baseball team starts play in the 13AAA Babe Ruth World Series Wednesday in Kitsap, Washington in suburban Seattle. Waite Park opens pool play Wednesday against Westfield, Massachusetts at 11am (CT). Waite Park will play the host team from Kitsap, Washington at 9pm (CT) Thursday. The head coach of the Kitsap team, Michael Smith is a St. John's graduate.
