He says the Twins have so many problems right now that there isn't a simple fix. Jim says injuries, bad starting and relief pitching, struggles from Miguel Sano, Max Kepler, Kenta Maeda and J.A. Happ are just some of the problems.

The Twins beat the Detroit Tigers 7-6 Wednesday night and that coupled with the White Sox 3-2 loss at Cleveland has vaulted the Twins into first place in the American League Central by 1/2 game.

The Twins lead the American League Central by 2 1/2 games over 2nd place Cleveland after posting a 6-3 win at Texas Sunday. The Twins swept the Rangers in 4 games while Cleveland split 4 game with the Yankees.

The Twins scored 5 1st inning runs to beat the White Sox 11-1 in Chicago Sunday. Jorge Polanco hit a 2-run home run and Miguel Sano hit a 3-run home run in the first inning. Jonathan Schoop added a 2-run home run.

The White Sox downed the Twins 5-1 Saturday night behind starting pitcher Ivan Nova. Nova threw the first 6 innings with just 2 hits and no earned runs allowed. The Twins only run was scored on an error in the 3rd inning.

Nelson Cruz had his first 3-home run game of his career Thursday night in the Twins' 10-3 win at Chicago against the White Sox. Cruz finished with 5 RBIs and now has 25 home runs and 58 RBIs.

The Twins and White Sox endured a 3-hour rain delay and the White Sox held on to beat the Twins 4-3 Sunday afternoon in Chicago. The White Sox won 2 out of 3 in the weekend series.

A Sauk Rapids native and Cathedral grad, Sister Mary Jo Sobieck probably didn't think she'd wind up in the national spotlight, but throwing the first pitch at a Chicago White Sox game got her there.

The Twins got on the board quickly against the White Sox at Target Field Thursday and never looked back, earning a series split.
