After a year of lane restrictions, road closures, and traffic jams, the West Metro Corridor project in northwest St. Cloud is nearing completion. A wetter than normal summer threatened the project's completion date, but the project engineer says a dry September saved the project from spilling over into next year.

Weather delayed the Veterans Drive closure overnight Wednesday. Veterans Drive will now be closed starting at 7:00 tonight and the road will re-open at approximately 7:00 a.m. tomorrow.

Another big step in completing the West Metro Corridor project. Traffic will be switched to the newly constructed eastbound lanes of Veterans Drive Monday.

More traffic lane switches today as part of the West Metro Corridor project. Motorists will be switched to the south side of Stearns County Road 134 between Driftwood Road and Veterans Drive.

The West Metro Corridor project is entering another phase tomorrow. 54th Avenue, also known as Stearns County Road 138, will re-open to traffic mid-morning. Traffic will then be routed onto the newly-created lanes of the Veterans Drive bridge and eastbound lanes of Veterans Drive.

Utility work will close a portion of Veteran's Drive between 10th and 11th Avenues North Monday. Detours will be posted to route traffic around the construction area. The closure will last until approximately Friday, July 1st.

Veterans Drive is reduced to one lane in each direction at the intersection of 11th Avenue North. Construction work in that area is prompting the lane restrictions. The closure will last approximately two days.

Plans to close a portion of veterans Drive because of the West Metro Corridor project were pushed back Sunday because of rain. The closure will now take place between 7:00 p.m. tomorrow (Wednesday-tonight) and 7:00 a.m. Thursday.

Work on the West Metro Corridor will prompt a portion of Veterans Drive to be closed starting Sunday evening. Storm sewer and water main crossing work will close Veterans Drive between Rolling Ridge Road to the West and Anderson Avenue to the east

The Stearns County Engineer's Office says Veterans Drive will be closed again Thursday night into Friday morning. Veterans Drive will be closed from 7:00 p.m. Thursday until 7:00 a.m. Friday for sewer and water crossings
