The number of people out of work in the St. Cloud metro area went down last month. The Department of Employment and Economic Development says our unemployment rate is now at 6.3% -- down from 6.7% in April.
The unemployment rate in the St. Cloud Metro Area dropped two-tenths a percent in March. The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development says our unemployment rate is now at 7.5%.
New figures show Minnesota unemployment edged down a tenth of a percentage point to a seasonally adjusted 6.6 percent in March.
That compares with a national rate of 8.8 percent for march.
The unemployment rate for the St. Cloud metro area went up a full one-percent from December to January. The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development says we're at 7.8% unemployment now.
Minnesota's unemployment rate dipped to 7 percent in December, but the state also lost jobs last month. Figures released Thursday by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development show a 0.1 percentage point decline in the jobless rate.
