The Twins outscored the Phillies at Target Field 11-7 Tuesday in the first game of a 3-game series. Minnesota scored 4 runs in the 2nd inning to get off to a good start. Trevor Plouffe went 3-5 with a homerun, 3 runs scored and 3 RBIs. Plouffe has 10 homeruns this season. Josh Willingham and Denard Span each had solo homeruns, Ben Revere was 3-5 with 2 RBIs and Jamey Carroll went 3-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs for the Twins. Nick Blackburn threw 5 innings with 8 hits and 4 earned runs allowed to get the win and improves to 3-4.

The Twins downed Cleveland 6-3 Sunday afternoon to win 2 of 3 games from the Indians in the weekend series. Scott Diamond threw 7 innings with 7 hits and 3 runs (0 earned) with 2 strikeouts and no walks to get the win and improve to 4-1. Matt Capps threw a scoreless 9th inning to get the save, his 12th. Trevor Plouffe went 3-4 with a run scored, Josh Willingham had 2 hits, a run and 1 RBI and Brian Dozier went 2-3 with a run scored for the Twins.

The Twins downed Cleveland 7-4 Saturday night behind solid performances from Trevor Plouffe and Joe Mauer. Mauer was 3-5 with a 2-run homerun and 3 RBIs on the night and Plouffe was 2-4 with a solo homerun and 3 RBIs on the night. Ben Revere and Denard Span each added 2 hits and Revere scored 2 runs. P.J. Walters started the game but didn't hang around long enough to get the win. He allowed 8 hits and 4 earned runs in 4 1/3 innings.

The Twins closed the season Wednesday night with a 1-0 win over Kansas City at Target Field. Trevor Plouffe singled in Denard Span in the 9th inning to earn the Twins a walk-off victory. Carl Pavano threw the complete-game 5-hit shutout with 3 strikeouts and no walks to get the win and improve to 9-13.

The Twins lost 8-1 Friday night at home against the N.Y. Yankees. Russell Martin hit a pair of homeruns and Mark Teixiera had 2 hits and 3 RBIs for the Yankees. Kevin Slowey allowed 6 earned runs in 5 2/3 innings to take the loss. Trevor Plouffe hit a solo homerun accounting for the lone Twins run.

The Twins defeated Oakland 9-5 Friday night in the first game of a 3-game series. Minnesota led 5-2 after 6 innings and put the game out of reach by scoring 4 runs in the 8th inning. Trevor Plouffe played 2nd base and was 2-6 at the plate with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI, Michael Cuddyer hit a 3-run homerun and Joe Mauer was 2-4 with 2 runs scored.

The Twins beat the Kansas City Royals 8-4 at Target Field Thursday night. Minnesota fell behind 3-0 before scoring 4 runs in the 5th inning capped by Trevor Plouffe's 2-run homerun. Delmon Young went 3-4 with a run scored and 1 RBI and Joe Mauer drove in 2 runs for the Twins. Francisco Liriano allowed 7 hits and 3 runs (1 earned) in 7 innings to get the win and improve to 6-7.

The Twins earned their 2nd straight win Wednesday night with a 4-3 win in 10 innings at Oakland against the A's. Trevor Plouffe drove in the game-winning run with a sacrifice fly in the 10th inning scoring Delmon Young. Plouffe was 2-4 with 3 RBIs on the night and Justin Morneau was 2-4 with 1 RBI for Minnesota.

The Twins beat the Red Sox 9-2 Friday night in Boston to win their 3rd straight game. The win in Boston is Minnesota's first since 2007. The Twins scored 3 runs in the 2nd inning and added 4 more in the 5th inning to blow the game wide open. New shortstop Trevor Plouffe went 2-4 with a homerun and 3 runs scored in his 2011 debut to lead the Twins at the plate. Danny Valencia and Denard Span each had 2 hits and 2 RBIs for the Twins.

The Twins are calling up shortstop Trevor Plouffe and outfielder Ben Revere from triple-A Rochester. Plouffe takes Jim Thome's roster spot. Thome was placed on the 15-day disabled list with an oblique injury.
