Strong Winds Down Trees, Power Lines in Twin Cities Metro

Strong winds downed trees and power lines - and caused damage to at least one roof - as storms swept through the southwest metro area Thursday night. National Weather Service meteorologist Jacob Beitlich says the storm brought hail and straight-line winds.

A round of strong thunderstorms moved through the area overnight. There were thunderstorm warnings for Stearns, Benton, Morrison and Todd counties, and a tornado warning for Sherburne county.
