The Texas Rangers signed closer Joe Nathan to a 2-year contract with a club option for 2014. He'll make $7 Million in 2012 and 2013 and $9 Million in a club option in 2014. Nathan was 2-1 with 4.84 ERA with the Twins in 2011 with 14 saves in 48 appearances.

The Texas Rangers downed the St. Louis Cardinals 4-2 Monday night in game 5 of the World Series. Mike Napoli hit a 2-run double in the 8th inning to break the 2-all tie for the Rangers. Mitch Moreland and Adrian Beltre each hit solo homeruns for Texas. Darren Oliver earned the win in relief for Texas and Neftali Feliz threw a scoreless 9th inning for the save.

Derek Holland threw 8 1/3 innings of shutout baseball with 7 strikeouts and 2 hits allowed to get the win. Mike Napoli hit a 3-run homerun and Josh Hamilton added a RBI double for the Rangers.
