The city of Sartell is getting a new traffic light. The city has reached an agreement with Kwik Trip, Inc. and Stearns County to erect a traffic signal at the intersection of County Roads 133 and 78 just west of the Mississippi River Bridge.
Stearns County will hold a seized and government surplus auction tomorrow (Saturday). There will be dozens of vehicles and vehicle accessories, snowmoblies, tools, office furniture, computers and motorcycles.
About 1,200 senior citizens in Stearns County won't be able to get free health assessments and toe nails trimmed next year. The county has decided to eliminate the program to make up for shortfalls in staffing elsewhere.
A Royalton woman was taken to the hospital on Friday after driving off the road and hitting a telephone utility box. The incident happened just after 5:30 p.m. at 39122 County Road 1. The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says 66-year-old Martha Loften was driving a Jeep Cherokee northbound
The local cycling and running communities are grieving, after the loss of close friend John Seiler. Seiler was killed on Tuesday night, while riding his bicycle on County Road 2 in St. Wendel Township. He was well known in the area as an avid cyclist, runner and skiier.
