A rash of day-time burglaries have been reported in rural Stearns County. Sheriff John Sanner says there have been 48 reported so far this year in Eden Lake, Maine Prairie, Munson, Lynden, Avon, and LeSauk Townships, as well as in the cities of St. Augusta and Rockville.

A vacant farm home has been destroyed by fire. The Stearns County Sheriff says fire crews were called to the farmsite on County Road 142 in Fairhaven Township at about 7:00 p.m. last (Sunday) night.

Fifty cows died in a barn fire early this (Friday) morning in Stearns County's Spring Hill Township. The Sheriff says the incident happened just after 2:00 a.m. at the Daniel Welle farm. The barn contained about 75 cows, only 20-25 got out safely.
