Stearns County has a reminder for homeowners whose property was damaged by high water or flooding this summer. Stearns County wants residents to know that if your shorelines and structures were damaged because of high water you may need a permit before doing any work.
Stearns County is going to install drop boxes for you to safely dispose of your old prescription drugs. Chief Deputy Sheriff Bruce Bechtold told county commissioners it's both a safety issue and an environmental one. Bechtold says they are working with the Environmental Services Department to run the program. He says the goal is to get the drugs out the home and safely dispose of them without the drugs getting into the groundwater.
