Local law enforcement agencies conducted a commercial vehicle enforcement campaign recently. St. Cloud Police, the State Patrol, and the Sherburne County Sheriff's Department conducted the event last Thursday and Friday.
The Minnesota State Patrol says speed contributed to a February crash that killed four North Dakota State University students on their way back to school. The patrol also concluded that the driver was not driving for the conditions.
A Cold Spring man suffered non life threatening injuries after the motorcycle he was driving hit a turkey. The State Patrol says the incident happened at about 4:30 p.m. yesterday (Friday) on Highway 23 in Stearns County.
An Ironton woman lead police on a high speed chase down Highway 10 from St. Cloud to Clear Lake. The State Patrol says the incident started at about 9:30 p.m. last (Thursday) night when Rebecca Lueck failed to stop for a trooper at Benton County Road 33.
Law enforcement agencies statewide will increase enforcement this St. Patrick's Day weekend, a traditionally risky time on Minnesota roadways. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety officials are especially concerned this year because St. Patrick's Day is on a Saturday.
