Minnesota is headed toward a significant milestone in which more of its residents are senior citizens than school-aged. State Demographer Susan Brower told a panel of top legislators on Monday that Minnesota is on course to reach that point in 2020.
Minnesota's state demographer says new census figures show the state's Hispanic population jumping 74.5 percent in the past decade, mirroring a national trend. State Demographer Tom Gillaspy says the 250,258 Hispanics reported in the 2010 Census account for 4.7 percent of state's current population of 5.3 million.
