SCSU Students Design Scooter for Xcel Energy

Three students from St. Cloud State University have designed a new scooter for Xcel Energy. The special scooter was built to allow Xcel engineers and technicians to inspect their 6 to 7 feet diameter concrete tubes that are used as a form of drainage system.

The team was on the chopping block last fall, and the program would have been eliminated if not for the students who voted last November to raise their own activity fees by $1.74 per credit.

Students at St. Cloud State University have a chance to connect with organizations in the community. Tomorrow (Wednesday) is the annual "Mainstreet" event. From 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. about 300 organizations will be on display on the mall outside of Atwood Memorial Center.

One big lemonade stand will be open for business again this weekend. Members of the University Lutheran Church of the Epiphany will be handing-out free glasses of lemonade on Saturday to St. Cloud State University students and their families.
