St. Cloud State Men's Hockey

The St. Cloud State men's hockey team signed 2 players on the first day of the late signing period Wednesday. The Huskies signed forward Jonny Brodzinski of Blaine and forward David Morley of Richmond Hills, Ontario to WCHA and National Letters of intent.

The St. Cloud State men's hockey team is losing big defenseman Oliver Lauridsen. He signed an entry level pro contract with the Philadelphia Flyers forgoing his senior season of eligibility with St. Cloud State. He had 1 goal and 8 assists this season for SCSU.

The St. Cloud State wrestling team earned 2nd place in the NCAA Division II meet in Kearney, Nebraska. The tournament finished Saturday. The SCSU men's hockey team lost 4-2 and 3-2 in triple-overtime to Minnesota-Duluth in the first round of the WCHA tournament over the weekend.

The St. Cloud State men's hockey team lost 4-2 at Minnesota-Duluth in the first round of the WCHA playoffs Friday night. The win for UMD gives them a 1 game to none lead in the best of 3 series with the Huskies. UMD scored 2 goals in the 2nd period and led 3-1 after 2. Jared Festler and David Eddy each scored a goal for the Huskies and Mike Lee had 26 saves.

The St. Cloud State men's hockey team upset 5th ranked Denver 3-2 in Denver Friday night. The Huskies move into 7th place in the WCHA. Aaron Marvin scored the game-winning goal for the Huskies breaking the 2-all tie. Brett Barta and Ben Hanowski each scored a goal as well for SCSU and Mike Lee had 32 saves.

St. Cloud State freshman defenseman Nick Jensen is the Red Baron WCHA co-rookie of the week this week. He shares the award with Johnnie Searfoss of Nebraska-Omaha. Jensen had a goal and 2 assists in St. Cloud State's 8-2 win at then #3 MN-Duluth Friday night.

The St. Cloud State men's hockey team has lost 3 games in a row and was swept at Nebraska-Omaha 4-3 Saturday night. SCSU took a 3-0 lead after 1 period but allowed 1 goal in the 2nd period and 3 in the 3rd. David Eddy, Garrett Roe and Drew LeBlanc each scored a goal for SCSU and Mike Lee had 51 saves.

The St. Cloud State men's hockey team lost 3-0 at Nebraska-Omaha Friday night. SCSU was 0-2 on the power play but outshot UNO 33-29. The Huskies are winless in their last 3 games after winning 6 straight games.

The St. Cloud State men's hockey team won 2-1 in overtime at Bemidji State Friday night. Nic Dowd scored the game-winning goal for the Huskies. Nick Jensen scored a goal for SCSU as well. St. Cloud State has won 5 straight games and will go for the sweep of Bemidji State in Bemidji at 7:07pm tonight. The SCSU women's hockey team lost at home to North Dakota 5-0 Friday night.

The St. Cloud State men's hockey has had some roster changes in the last couple of weeks. Chris Hepp has left the program to play professionally for the Idaho Steelheads, Bryce Johnson has left to play for the Omaha Lancers of the USHL, and Tony Mosey has reportedly been dismissed by the team for a violation of a team rule.
