NCHC Names New Commissioner

The National Collegiate Hockey Conference named its first commissioner today at a press conference. The new commissioner is former United States Olympic Committee Chief Executive Jim Scherr.

SCSU Hockey Falls 2-1 In Overtime To Western Michigan

The St. Cloud State men's hockey team lost 2-1 in overtime to #8 Western Michigan Friday night to settle for a split in the weekend series. The Huskies won 4-2 Thursday night. SCSU fell behind 1-0 after 1 period but tied the game in the 2nd period with a goal from David Eddy. Chase Balisy scored the game-winning goal in overtime for Western Michigan.

SCSU Hockey Rallies Past Western Michigan

The St. Cloud State men's hockey team rallied to defeat #8 Western Michigan 4-2 Friday night at the National Hockey Center in St. Cloud. SCSU scored 3 3rd period goals to overcome a 2-1 deficit. Jared Festler scored 2 goals and Nick Jensen had 3 assists for the Huskies. Ryan Faragher had 29 saves for SCSU.

SCSU Hockey Routs #13 Denver 5-1

The St. Cloud State men's hockey team earned a split in the weekend series with #13 Denver 5-1 Saturday night. Nick Jensen scored a hat trick for the Huskies. This was the first time since 1991 when a defenseman scored a hat trick for SCSU. Bret Hedican did it then. Cory Thorson and Brooks Bertsch each scored a goal for the Huskies and Jared Festler added 2 assists.

SCSU Hockey Earns 6-All Tie

The St. Cloud State men's hockey team settled for a 6-all overtime tie with Bemidji State Friday night at the National Hockey Center in St. Cloud. Ben Hanowski had 2 goals and Travis Novak had a goal and 2 assists for SCSU. Nick Oliver, Taylor Johnson and Jordy Christian each added a goal for the Huskies.

SCSU Men’s Hockey Earns Tie With UNO

The St. Cloud State men's hockey team earned a 2-all overtime tie with #19 Nebraska-Omaha Sunday in Omaha to salvage a point in the weekend series after losing on Saturday. Brooks Bertsch and Ben Hanowski each scored a goal for the Huskies and Ryan Faragher had 26 saves for SCSU.

Huskies Upset #1 Gophers 4-3

The St. Cloud State men's hockey team posted their biggest win of the season 4-3 over top ranked Minnesota Friday night. SCSU led 4-1 entering the 3rd period and freshman goaltender Ryan Faragher had 40 saves in the game and 13 in the final period. SCSU got goals from Ben Hanowski, Cam Reid, Nic Dowd and Jared Festler. Hanowski had 2 assists as well and David Eddy had 3 assists.

SCSU Hockey Plays #1 Gophers

The St. Cloud State men's hockey team will play top ranked Minnesota in a home and home series Friday and Saturday nights. SCSU will host Friday night starting at 7:37pm, pregame on WJON at 7:00. The Gophers will host the game on Saturday night at 7:07, pregame on WJON at 6:30. Minnesota is 10-2 while St. Cloud State is 5-5-2.

The St. Cloud State men's hockey team lost 4-2 at Minnesota State-Mankato Friday night. The game was tied 1-1 after 1 period but Mankato scored 2 2nd period goals and the Huskies couldn't catch up. Brooks Bertsch and Cory Thorson each scored a goal and Ryan Faragher had 34 saves for the Huskies.

SCSU Hockey Swept At Northern Michigan

The St. Cloud State men's hockey team lost 3-2 at Northern Michigan Saturday night and was swept in the weekend series in Marquette, Michigan. SCSU trailed 2-1 after 1 period and were down 3-1 after 2. Joey Holka and Jared Festler each scored a goal for the Huskies and Ryan Faragher had 2o saves in net for SCSU.
