St. Cloud State centerfielder Brian Hansen was chosen in the 49th round by Cleveland with pick # 1,478 Wednesday in the Major League Baseball entry level draft. Hansen will likely stay at SCSU and be available to be drafting next season.

The St. Cloud State baseball team was eliminated from the NCAA Division II Central Regional early Monday morning with a 7-6 10 inning loss to Winona State. SCSU and Winona started the game after 10pm Sunday night because of rain and field conditions at Dick Putz and Joe Faber Fields in St. Cloud. SCSU's walked in the go-ahead run in the 10th inning.

The St. Cloud State baseball team defeated Augustana 7-1 in their first game in the NCAA Division II Central Regional at Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud Thursday night. Scott Leiser allowed 6 hits and 1 earned run to get the win and Travis Enger went 4-4 with a run scored and 1 RBI for the Huskies. SCSU is 43-9 and will play 3rd seeded Minnesota State-Mankato at 3:30 at Faber Field today.

The St. Cloud State baseball team hosts the NCAA Division II Central Regional at Joe Faber Field today. SCSU is the #1 seed and will play 6th seeded Augustana at 7pm tonight. The first game of the day is at noon when 2nd seeded Mesa State plays #5 Winona State and then 3rd seed Minnesota State-Mankato will play #4 Nebraska-Kearney at 3:30.

NSIC Tournament Championship St. Cloud State 5, Winona State 3 (It's the first NSIC tournament title for St. Cloud State in school history. SCSU won a North Central Conference title in 1991. The Huskies won 4 straight games after losing their tournament opener against Augustana Wednesday.

The St. Cloud State baseball team lost 5-4 to Augustana in their first game of the NSIC tournament at Franklin Rogers Park in Mankato. Augustana broke the 4-all tie with a run in the 9th inning. Travis Cariveau had 2 hits including a homerun for the Huskies.

St. Cloud State third baseman Jordan Smith was selected as the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference baseball player of the year Monday. He led the league with a .477 batting average with 7 homeruns and 92 total bases. Smith was also named first team all conference.
