The St. Cloud Rox lost 6-2 at Waterloo Monday night. Waterloo scored 2 runs in the 2nd inning and held on for the win. Andy Fagely threw 5 innings with 7 hits and 4 runs allowed to take the loss. St. Cloud managed 8 hits including a RBI double from Ben Morgan and a RBI single from Mark Rhine.

The St. Cloud Rox won 6-1 at home against Mankato Sunday night behind the starting pitching of Paul Schaak. Schaak threw 7 shutout innings with 3 hits allowed with 1 strikeout and no walks. He gets the win. Mark Rhine went 3-4 with a triple and 2 RBIs and Nick Rau went 2-4 with 2 runs scored for the Rox. St. Cloud scored 3 runs in the 5th inning and added 2 more runs in the 6th inning.

Moon Dogs Spoil Rox Home Opener

The St. Cloud Rox played their first home game of the 2012 season and lost 5-0 to Mankato at Joe Faber Field. Former Kansas City Royal star Bret Saberhagen threw out the first pitch. The Rox failed to score off 3 Mankato pitchers. The Moon Dogs combined to threw a 4-hit shutout. Matt McDaniel threw 6 shutout inning to get the win for the Moon Dogs. Ben Meyer allowed 2 earned runs in 5 innings to take the loss for St. Cloud. Adam Martin continues to hit well for St. Cloud going 3-4.

Moon Dogs Beat Rox 10-5; Home Opener Tonight

The St. Cloud Rox lost 10-5 at Mankato Friday night. Mankato scored 5 runs in the 2nd inning and never trailed in their win over St. Cloud. Tony Mollica allowed 6 runs (4 earned) in 2 innings to take the loss for the Rox. Boo Vazquez and Adam Martin each had 2 hits and 2 runs scored and both Travis Enger and Ryan Kiesel had 2 hits and 1 RBI for St. Cloud. Will Huff hit a solo homerun for the Rox.

St. Cloud Rox Earn First Win

The St. Cloud Rox won their first game in franchise history 10-9 at Duluth Thursday night. St. Cloud scored 9 runs in the 5th inning before Duluth scored 5 in the bottom of the 5th inning. Adam Martin hit a solo homerun for St. Cloud in the 6th inning to lead 10-6. Duluth added 3 runs in the 9th inning but St. Cloud escapes with the team. Martin led the Rox going 3-5 with a homerun and 2 RBIs, Patrick Gamblin went 2-3 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI and Will Huff was 2-5 with 2 RBIs for St. Cloud.

St. Cloud Rox Lose Season Opener at Duluth

The St. Cloud Rox lost their season opener at Duluth 6-1 Wednesday night. Duluth scored 3 runs in the 6th inning to lead 6-1. Alex Roberts started the game for the Rox and allowed 8 hits and 2 earned runs in 5 innings to take the loss. St. Cloud managed just 2 hits. Both Adam Martin and Ryan Kiesel each had a hit for the Rox.

St. Cloud Rox Start Season Tonight

The St. Cloud Rox begin their first season in the Northwoods League tonight when they play at Duluth against the Huskies. The St. Cloud Northwoods League organization went through some changes in the offseason. They changed ownership in February and the name "River Bats" went with the previous ownership. Gary Posch, Joe Sexton and Scott Schreiner are the owners of the newly formed St. Cloud Rox. The field manager for the Rox this season is Augie Rodriguez. He said Tuesday that the Rox will have 19 to 20 players in Duluth tonight and that includes 11 position players.

St. Cloud Rox Start 2012 Season Wednesday

The St. Cloud Rox begin the 2012 season Wednesday night in Duluth against the Huskies at 7:35pm, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 7:05. The St. Cloud Northwoods League team has new ownership and a new name this season. Gary Posch and Joe Sexton are the new owners while the Rox are the new name replacing the River Bats. The Rox coaches arrived last week including field manager Augie Rodriguez and assistant coach Anthony Espitia.

Saberhagen Coming To Rox Home Opener

Former Major League Baseball star pitcher Bret Saberhagen will be the guest of the St. Cloud Rox for their home opener on June 2. Saberhagen will throw out the first pitch at Joe Faber Field against Mankato at 7:05 on June 2. He pitched 16 seasons in the Major Leagues with the Kansas City Royals, New York Mets, Colorado Rockies and Boston Red Sox. Saberhagen won a Cy Young Award in the American League while with the Royals in 1985. He was 20-6 with a 2.87 ERA in 1985 and helped the Royals win a World Series over the St. Louis Cardinals.

The St. Cloud Rox revealed their home and away uniforms at Buffalo Wild Wings in St. Cloud Monday night. The home uniforms have white tops while the road uniforms have a navy top.
