St. Cloud fire officials are investigating a suspected arson fire. Assistant Fire Marshal Lynn Cook says a vacant 20 X 20 building at 4211 Roosevelt Road was on fire at about 2:00 p.m. yesterday (Wednesday).
The St. Cloud Fire Department extinguished a couple fires. They were called to a duplex fire at about 8:45 p.m. last (Tuesday) night on 32nd Avenue North. And a fire was reported at the Highland Apartments in Southeast St. Cloud at about 12:45 a.m. this (Wednesday) morning.
The southeast St. Cloud fire station will be retro-fitted with a sprinkler system after it caught fire last October. The city council approved spending nearly $41,000 as part of the ongoing work to repair the building.
A fire destroyed a home in northeast St. Cloud early this (Wednesday) morning. Fire Chief Bill Mund says the fire department was called to the home at 2175 Prospect Drive Northeast just before 1:30 a.m.
