An annual celebration of the rich history of the sport in Minnesota is returning to the “state of hockey” this week.

The St. Cloud State University men's hockey team, St. Ben's hockey team, Granite City Lumberjacks, and St. Cloud Norsemen all completed weekend sweeps, the St. Cloud State women's basketball team routed USF, the Gopher women's hockey team rolled to their 10th straight win, the CSB basketball team squeezed out a close win over Augsburg, and the Minnesota Timberwolves topped Houston Saturday. The St. Cloud State women's hockey and men's basketball teams came up short in regulation Saturday, as did the SJU hockey and basketball teams, and the Gopher men's and SCSU women's hockey teams both fell in OT. On Sunday, the Gopher men's basketball team will try to find their way back to the win column with a Big Ten matchup in Michigan.

The St. Cloud State University men's hockey and women's basketball teams, Gopher hockey teams, St. Ben's hockey team, as well as the Granite City Lumberjacks and St. Cloud Norsemen all claimed Friday victories, while the SCSU men's basketball and women's hockey teams both fell to open the weekend. On Saturday, the Gopher women's basketball team will visit Purdue, the St. John's hockey and basketball teams will return to action, the St. Ben's basketball team will visit Augsburg, the Minnesota Timberwolves will host the Rockets, and the Wild will take on the Panthers.

The results are in from an annual high school tournament held in St. Cloud over the weekend.

The St. Cloud State University and University of Minnesota men's hockey teams both closed the weekend with shutout wins, the Gopher women's hockey team, St. Cloud State women's basketball team, St. John's hockey and basketball teams, Granite City Lumberjacks, Minnesota Wild, and Timberwolves also found themselves in the win column on Saturday. Meanwhile, the St. Cloud State women's and CSB hockey teams fell to get swept in their weekend series', and the SCSU men's basketball team, CSB basketball team, and St. Cloud Norsemen all came up short. On Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings will make their first postseason appearance since 2020 and the Gopher women's basketball team will look to get back to .500 with a Big 10 matchup at home.

Two central Minnesota collegiate dance teams are officially among the best in the country.

The St. Cloud State University basketball teams both opened the weekend with wins over Winona State, the Gopher women's hockey team shutout St. Thomas, and the Minnesota Timberwolves held on to beat Phoenix on Friday. Meanwhile, the St. Cloud State, St. John's, and St. Ben's hockey teams and Gopher men's hockey team all came up short of the win, and the St. Cloud Norsemen were unable to rally in Austin. On Saturday, the SJU and CSB basketball teams will return to action, the Minnesota Wild will host Arizona, and the Granite City Lumberjacks are expected to retake the ice after an injury led to the postponement of Friday's matchup against the Loons.

Saturday was a good day for St. Cloud State University sports as the men's hockey team shut out the Gophers to open their exciting weekend series, the women's hockey team went undefeated at the East/West Showcase, and the basketball teams both earned wins over Concordia-St. Paul. The St. John's University hockey team completed the series sweep of Gustavus, the St. Ben's basketball team defeated St. Mary's, and the Granite City Lumberjacks shut out New Ulm. Meanwhile, the SJU basketball team fell on the road, the St. Cloud Norsemen dropped their final game of the weekend to lose the series to Minot, the Gopher men's basketball team came up short in overtime, and the Minnesota Wild fell to Buffalo in the extra period. On Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings will close out the regular season with a matchup in Chicago, the Timberwolves will travel to Houston, the Gopher women's basketball team will meet the Badgers in Madison, and the NDSU football team will square off against the Jackrabbits in the FCS Championship game.

The St. Cloud State University women's hockey team returned to action with a shutout win at the East/West Showcase, the SJU hockey team routed Gustavus, the Granite City Lumberjacks skated past Willmar, and the Minnesota Timberwolves held on against the Clippers on Friday. Meanwhile, the St. Cloud State basketball teams floundered in Mankato, and the St. Cloud Norsemen dropped a close one in overtime to Minot. On Saturday, the Husky and Gopher men's hockey teams will go head-to-head, the CSB and SJU basketball teams will return to the court, the Gopher men's basketball team will host Nebraska, and the Minnesota Wild will look to keep their streak alive when they visit Buffalo.

The St. Cloud State University men's hockey team earned a home win over the University of Manitoba in an exhibition game Friday night, while the Gopher women's basketball team fell on the road against Maryland, the St. Cloud Norsemen dropped a close one in Aberdeen, and the Minnesota Timberwolves blew an 11-point first-half lead in Milwaukee. On Saturday, the Minnesota Wild will look to get back in the win column when they travel to St. Louis, the Gopher men's hockey team will play at Bemidji State, and the St. Cloud State basketball teams will host MSU-Moorhead.
