A public hearing will be held Monday regarding the closure of the Tri-County Mobile Home Park in Waite Park. The purpose of the meeting is to consider the anticipated closure of the mobile home park as part of a planned development for hotels and event center.
The pieces continue to be put together for a two-hotel and conference center in Waite Park. During tonight's (Monday) city council meeting, the council approved having a third party help clear the biggest hurdle -- relocating the residents of Tri-County Mobile Home Park.
Waite Park City Administrator Shaunna Johnson says the Silver Leaf Development Group was originally going to have a 7,000 square foot conference space in the first of the two hotels. Now they're looking to build a 27,000 square foot convention center that could accommodate up to 800 people.
