The Obama Administration is telling public schools they must allow transgender students to use bathrooms consistent with their gender identity. The letter doesn't set any legal requirements, but the guidance is meant to clarify school districts' obligations to "provide students with nondiscriminatory environments."

The Sartell-St. Stephen School District is encouraging community members to apple to be a part of the Community Schools Planning Committee. The district is gathering a committee of 50-100 members composed of district staff, students, families and community members.
