Voters in the ROCORI school district will be asked to renew a tax levy this November. The school board has approved putting the question on the ballot, which would renew the $800,000 a year levy from 2007.
Minnesota voters overwhelmingly voted to renew school levies on their property taxes, but were less enthusiastic about paying more. The Minnesota School Boards Association reports voters approved nearly 80 percent of operating levy questions on the ballot Tuesday.
Voters in the ROCORI school district will be voting on two levy questions on Tuesday. Superintendent Scott Staska says, because both questions are asking voters to continue levies that are already in place, property taxes will not increase.
The ROCORI school board will decide tonight (Monday) whether to put two operating levy questions on the November ballot. Superintendent Scott Staska says, if approved by the board, the first question would ask the voters to renew a $300,000 levy that is set to expire.
