It will still be several months before you see any real changes to a downtown St. Cloud parking lot, but Mayor Dave Kleis and City Council members went ahead and held a groundbreaking ceremony this (Monday) for the new parking ramp. The council then spent time going over design options during their study session.
The expanded River's Edge Convention Center continues to bring a lot of visitors to St. Cloud. Spokesman Tony Goddard says there were few days in the past couple of months when there wasn't an event being held at the facility.

Governor Mark Dayton stopped at the River's Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud today (Thursday) to promote the bonding bill that he signed into law last month. The bill includes $11.56 million to build a parking ramp in downtown St. Cloud, which will be attached to the Convention Center, completing that project.
