Some new changes are happening to the Coborns Superstore along Pinecone Road in Sartell. The company announced they're moving the liquor store into a new building in order to renovate the store for more fresh offerings.

Even with the snow on the ground Sartell officials are already focusing on the upcoming construction season. Last year Sartell completed phase one of the Pinecone Road projects, which included building three roundabouts.

The first of three roundabouts opened yesterday (Tuesday) along Pinecone Road, and construction for the other two are underway. City Engineer Mike Nielson says the roundabout and the stretch along Pinecone Road between 2nd Street South and 7th Street North (past Pine Meadow Elementary School) opened to traffic at about 2:30 p.m. yesterday.

Phase one of the Pinecone Road improvements nears completion with the opening of the 2nd Street South roundabout tonight (Thursday), but phase two of the project begins Monday. Sartell City Engineer Mike Nielson says all phase one work of the project will be done by September 1st, weather permitting.

Drivers will soon be able to use a portion of the roundabout at the intersection of Pinecone Road and 2nd Street in Sartell. City Engineer Mike Nielson says the east and westbound lanes will be open by the end of the day today (Friday).

Many Sartell businesses are staying positive, despite a dip in sales, as construction on a roundabout continues. The signs may say open, but the roads still say closed and local business, like The Blue Line, are feeling the heat.

Sartell residents should expect a few new detours along Pinecone road starting Monday. Pinecone Road from 7th Street North to Sundance Road will be closed to thru traffic beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Sartell police are warning you to not move the barricades surrounding the Pinecone Road project. Police have received information about drivers moving the barricades on Pinecone from the 2nd Street South intersection or driving around them during the morning commute.

Motorists in Sartell will be dealing with a significant detour starting next week. Work on Pinecone Road gets underway at the intersection of 2nd Street South starting Monday.
