Morrison, Todd Counties Included In Frost Advisory
Several counties in central and north central Minnesota have been included in a Frost Advisory, including Morrison and Todd counties. The National Weather Service says the Frost Advisory is from 3:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. tomorrow (Wednesday) .
NWS: August 2016 A Wet Month
Two daily rainfall records were set in St. Cloud during August, and the airport recorded the 5th highest rainfall amount in a 24 hour period since records began in 1893 on August 29th.
Flash Flood Warning For Douglas, Pope Counties
The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for southern Douglas and northern Pope counties until 9:30 a.m. this (Monday) morning. Rainfall rates of three inches per hour have been observed south of Alexandria, with two to four inches of rain falling in 90 minutes.
Storms Are Possible On Thursday
There is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms across much of central Minnesota into western Wisconsin through tonight as a complex of thunderstorms is expected to push southeast across the region. More storms are possible Friday and Friday night.
UPDATE: More Rain Likely Today
St. Cloud had record rainfall yesterday (Wednesday). Officially at the St. Cloud Regional Airport they officially had 1.97 inches of rain. That breaks the old record of 1.19 inches back in 1958.
