For March standards, the heat is on for the next week, with the only day not expected to see record high temperatures being Monday, when clouds and rain hold temperatures back closer to 10 degrees above normal as opposed to them being around 30 degrees above normal.

Snow is expected to develop on Tuesday, and continue through Wednesday evening. Periods of heavy snow are possible Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Snowfall amounts range from six to 12 inches, some areas could see more than a foot.

The National Weather Service says the snow moving in to the region on Sunday will be a bit farther north than they originally thought. That means Central Minnesota is now expected to only get between 1 and 3 inches of snow Sunday into Monday morning.

A storm system will touch the far southwest corner of the state today (Thursday). Three inches of snow will be possible near the Iowa border.
