UPDATE: Snow Possible On Thanksgiving Day
Travel impacts for the Thanksgiving holiday could start tomorrow, with a chance of patchy fog and drizzle throughout the day Wednesday. Conditions could deteriorate further for part of our area on Thanksgiving, with a chance of snow from southern MN through west central WI.
Heavy Snow Expected In Southern Minnesota, Iowa
Snow remains on track to move across Iowa, southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois this afternoon into early Saturday. Far southern Minnesota will be on the northern fringe, but will still pick up 1 to 4 inches this afternoon and evening.
Rain, Snow, Wind All in the Mix
A potent storm system moving northeast from the central Plains into the Great Lakes will bring strong winds, cooler temperatures and the potential for heavy rainfall for this Veterans’ Day through tomorrow.
UPDATE: Some Much Needed Rain
Widespread rain is expected throughout the day tomorrow across our area. Seasonably cool weather will persist from tomorrow through the upcoming weekend.
Strong Winds Prompt Warnings, Advisories
Behind a departing cold front, strong west to northwest winds will develop this morning and persist for much of the afternoon. Much of western Minnesota is under a High Wind Warning with eastern Minnesota into western Wisconsin under a Wind Advisory.
NWS: Heavy Rain Possible This Week
Periods of showers and thunderstorms will prevail through Thursday morning, especially over Minnesota. Locally heavy rainfall is possible. Drier weather is then forecast for the weekend with above normal temperatures.
Good Chance For Severe Weather in Central Minnesota Saturday
The National Weather Service says there's a good chance Central Minnesota will see severe weather Saturday afternoon/evening. A broken line of thunderstorms will develop over western Minnesota during the middle of the afternoon and will quickly become severe with very large hail, damaging winds…
