The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for parts of our listening area. Rainfall totals of three to four inches will be possible. Watch for widespread flooding in streams, creeks, and rivers.
A warm front lifting north across the area today (Thursday) will bring with it a return to more summer-like temperatures. Widely scattered thunderstorms will move across the area this afternoon, with a small chance for severe weather overnight across parts of central Minnesota as activity moves out of the Dakotas and into northwest Minnesota.
The National Weather Service has confirmed the first tornado of the season in Minnesota. An EF-1 tornado with speeds of near 90 mph touched down Tuesday evening in the St. Michael area, northwest of Minneapolis.
