UPDATE: Sauk Rapids Police Investigate Alleged Murder

Sauk Rapids police are investigating an alleged murder. On Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. officers were called to 107 3rd Avenue South to check on 43-year-old James Omara, who did not show up for work. Omara was last seen alive on Friday evening. He was found dead in his apartment from a gun shot wound.

Jurors have convicted a northern Minnesota woman of first- and second-degree murder for the 2009 shooting death of her partner. The jury deliberated less than three hours before convicting 26-year-old Betsy Marie Hanks on Tuesday. She was sentenced to life in prison without possibility of release.
