The Ramsey County Charter Commission voted 10-6 in favor of no referendum in Ramsey County for the Vikings Stadium plan. County residents testified by a 2-1 margin against the tax hike. The Vikings said if voters needed to decide whether Ramsey County could raise their taxes to play for the Viking Stadium that would have upped the cost by $110 Million because the process would have been delayed by 2 years.

The Vikings announced an agreement with Ramsey County to build a retractable roof stadium at the former Army Amunitions plant site in Arden Hills. The project is projected to cost $1.28 Billion with the Vikings paying for $407 Million or 44 percent of the cost. Ramsey County has committed to pay for $350 Million or 33 percent and state is being asked to pay for $300 Million or 23 percent.
