Minnesota state parks drew record crowds on the Fourth of July holiday weekend, and park officials say there are still great recreational opportunities ahead for the rest of the summer.
The Environmental Protection Agency has reached a tentative settlement with four iron mines in Minnesota and Michigan that's aimed at reducing haze over pristine areas including Voyageurs and Isle Royale national parks and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area.
Minnesota state parks resume taking reservations for campsites and cabins at 8 a.m. Tuesday following the state government shutdown.
