Engineers say the Metrodome roof that collapsed in a December snowstorm should be replaced rather than repaired, raising the prospect of a lengthier process that could disrupt Minnesota Vikings preseason games.
The daunting task of removing snow from the buried TCF Bank Stadium has begun. The Vikings will need the stadium for Monday night's game against the Bears -- the first outdoor NFL game in Minnesota in 30 years.
The Metrodome's roof collapsed early Sunday morning under the weight of 17-inches of snow. The Dome will be repaired this week. Meanwhile, the Vikings will take on the New York Giants at Detroit's Ford Field Monday night
