Two Minnesota Lynx players received honors from the WNBA Thursday. Lindsay Whalen was named the WNBA Western Conference player of the month for the month of August. She is averaging 14.2 points and 5.9 assists a game this season. Maya Moore has been named the WNBA rookie of the year. Moore is averaging 12.5 points a game this season.
The Minnesota Lynx beat the Washington Mystics 73-56 Tuesday night to earn their 6th straight win and improve to a WNBA best 24-6. Lindsay Whalen led the Lynx with 21 points and Maya Moore added 9 points for Minnesota.
