T-Wolves Win at New Orleans
The Timberwolves won 87-80 at New Orleans Friday night to improve to 4-7 on the season. Ricky Rubio made his first NBA start and had 12 points and 9 assists in 44 minutes. Kevin Love led the Wolves with 34 points and 15 rebounds and Luke Ridnour added 13 points for Minnesota. The Wolves trailed 38-37 at halftime.
Rubio 3rd, Love 5th In All Star Voting
Timberwolves guard Ricky Rubio is 3rd among guards in the Western Conference in the All Star voting. Rubio has received 133,520 votes and trails 2nd place Chris Paul of the L.A. Clippers by 460,000 votes for 2nd place. Kobe Bryant of the Lakers is the leader with 690,000 votes. Kevin Love is 5th among forwards with 143,814 votes.
Timberwolves Win at Washington
The Timberwolves won 93-72 at Washington Sunday afternoon. Kevin Love led the Wolves with 20 points and 16 rebounds and Ricky Rubio added 13 points and 14 assists. Minnesota shot 45 percent from the field while Washington shot just 34 percent. The Wolves improve to 3-5. Washington remains winless.
Cav’s Pound Timberwolves 98-87
The Timberwolves fell to 2-5 on the season after a 98-87 loss at home to Cleveland. Antwan Jamison led the Cavs with 22 points and Kyrie Irving added 14 points for Cleveland. Kevin Love led the Wolves with 29 points and 12 rebounds and Derrick Williams added 12 points off the bench.
Timberwolves Lose 90-86 To Memphis
The Timberwolves lost 90-86 at home to Memphis Wednesday night to snap their 2-game winning streak. The Wolves fell behind 15-0 before making a comeback. Kevin Love led the Wolves with 27 points and 14 rebounds and Ricky Rubio added 12 points and 10 assists. The Wolves committed 17 turnovers while Memphis had 10 turnovers.
Timberwolves Beat Spurs For 2nd Straight Win
The Timberwolves won their 2nd straight game 106-96 at home against San Antonio Monday night. Kevin Love led the Wolves with 24 points and 15 rebounds and both Michael Beasley and Luke Ridnour added 19 points apiece. Ricky Rubio contributed 6 points and 3 assists in 24 minutes for Minnesota.
Heat Edge Timberwolves 103-101
The Miami Heat escaped Target Center Friday night with a 103-101 win over the Timberwolves. Dwayne Wade made the game-winning layup with 6 seconds left on a pass from Lebron James. Wayne Ellington's 20 footer in the corner didn't fall to force overtime. Kevin Love led the Wolves with 25 points and 12 rebounds, Anthony Randolph added 14 points and Ricky Rubio had 12 points and 12 assists. The game was the best for Rubio in his short NBA career.
Bucks Edge Timberwolves 98-95
The Timberwolves lost 98-95 at Milwaukee Tuesday night to fall to 0-2 on the season. Minnesota trailed by more than 20 points but Kevin Love's missed 3-point shot at the buzzer would have forced overtime. Love led the Wolves with 31 points and 20 rebounds and Luke Ridnour added 17 points.
Timberwolves Lose Regular Season Opener
The Timberwolves made the game interesting but lost 104-100 at home to Oklahoma City Monday night in their regular season opener. Michael Beasley led the Wolves with 24 points, Kevin Love added 22 points and 12 rebounds and J.J. Barea added 14 points off the bench. Rookie Derrick Williams added 13 points in 24 minutes and Ricky Rubio played 26 minutes added scored 6 points with 6 assists and 5 rebounds.
