The Stearns County Attorney's office has applied for funding for a facility dog to help calm victims when meeting with them at the county office. The dogs are Golden Retrievers and could be used if victims chose to.

Stearns County Attorney Janelle Kendall joined me today on WJON. We discussed the release of the documents from the Jacob Wetterling investigation. She agreed with Stearns County Sheriff Don Gudmundson who stated that mistakes were made early in the investigation and that she wasn't made aware of the details involved with Danny Heinrich as a suspect in this case until 2015.

Several local law enforcement agencies are teaming up, with the help of a state grant, to fight sex trafficking. The newly formed "Central Minnesota Sex Trafficking Investigative Task Force" has been awarded a $313,000 grant to fund the partnership.

Stearns County Attorney Janelle Kendall recently attended a juvenile sex trafficking conference in New Orleans. She says about a dozen professionals who work to combat trafficking in our community attended.
