Shourd: ‘Huge Burden’ Lifted After 2 Hikers Freed

Sarah Shourd says a "huge burden" has been lifted now that the two American hikers held with her in Iran have been freed and returned to the U.S. Joshua Fattal and Shane Bauer landed Sunday in New York. They were freed under a $1 million bail deal after more than two years in prison.

Freed Hikers: Iran Held Us Because We’re American

Two American hikers freed from an Iranian prison after more than two years in captivity say they were held simply because of their nationality. Josh Fattal and Shane Bauer spoke at a news conference Sunday after arriving in New York. Bauer grew up in Onamia. His mother lives in Pine City.

Shourd Sings For Still Captive Hikers

It's hard to believe two Americans are still held captive in Iran on charges they were spying when captured along the Iran/Iraq border.  Sarah Shourd wrote "Piece of Time" when she was in prison.  Iranian officials released her for health reasons, but still hold Sarah's fiance Shane Bauer of Onamia, Minnesota and her friend Josh Fattal.
