Former Viking, Doleman Goes Into Hall of Fame
Former Viking defensive end Chris Doleman was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame Saturday in Canton, Ohio. Doleman had 150.5 sacks in his career. He played with the Vikings from 1985-1993 and again in 1999. His best season was 1989 when he had 21 sacks for the Vikings. He also played for the Falcons and 49ers in his career.
Cathedral’s Karn Gets Great Honor
Longtime Cathedral head baseball coach Bob Karn has been selected for induction into the Minnesota Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame. The Hall honors service to amateur baseball in Minnesota. Bob's induction has probably been delayed because he is the curator of the Hall of Fame in St. Cloud and would never allow himself to be nominated.
Blyleven Goes Into Hall of Fame Today
Former Twin starting pitcher Bert Blyleven will go into the Baseball Hall of Fame today in Cooperstown, New York. Blyleven is expected to speak at 1:50pm (CT) and his 85-year old mother is expected to be in the front row. The Twins have already retired his number #28 at Target Field this season. Blyleven is 3rd all-time in major league history in strikeouts and is widely considered to have one of the best curve balls of all time.
