He torn the patella tendon in both knees at a scrimmage for the Vikings in Mankato Saturday night. Childs vows to recover from this injury but only one other player had the torn the patella tendon on both knees and he wasn't able to sustain a comeback in the NFL.

Childs season is over and career is in jeopardy. The 6'3 receiver ran a 4.39 40 at the combine but had a injury history in college at Arkansas. He was taken in the 4th round by the Vikings in the April draft.

The Vikings also signed 5th round pick safety Robert Blanton of Notre Dame, 6th round pick kicker Blair Walsh of Georgia, and 7th round picks linebacker Audie Cole of N.C. State and defensive lineman Trevor Guyton of California.
