The Gopher women's basketball team defeated St. Cloud State in exhibition play 86-51 Wednesday night at Williams Arena. Kiara Buford led the Gophers with 14 points and freshman Rachel Banham added 11 points and 6 assists. Jessica Benson led the Huskies with 9 points.

The Gopher women's basketball team will play this season without forward Kayla Hirt of Bemidji. She tore her anterior cruciate ligament in her knee. Head coach Pam Borton is disappointed but is confident she'll return better than ever.

The Gopher women's basketball team lost to Northwestern 53-44 in the first round of the Big Ten tournament in Indianapolis Thursday night. China Antoine was the lone Gopher in double figures with 18 points. Minnesota finishes their season with a 12-18 record.

The Gopher women's basketball team defeated Michigan 82-78 in double overtime Thursday night. Kiara Buford led the Gophers with 21 points and Brianna Mastey added 19 points. Mastey is a Becker native. Minnesota shot 47 percent while Michigan shot 39 percent.

The Gopher women's basketball team lost at Northwestern 62-55 Sunday afternoon. Minnesota was led by Kiara Buford with 15 points and she surpasses 1,000 points in her career.

The Gopher women's basketball team lost to Purdue 60-50 Thursday night at Williams Arena. Brianna Mastey of Becker led the Gophers with 17 points and Jackie Voigt added 8 points and 11 rebounds for Minnesota.

The Gopher women's basketball team lost 83-76 at home against Ohio State Sunday afternoon. Minnesota was tied with the Buckeyes with 3 minutes left but the Gophers failed to stop Ohio State down the stretch. Kiara Buford led the Gophers with 23 points and Katie Loberg added 18 points.

The Gopher women's basketball team defeated Indiana 65-59 in Bloomington, Indiana Thursday night. The win is the 3rd straight for Minnesota. Kiara Buford led the Gophers with 16 points and Katie Loberg added 14 points.

The Gopher women's basketball team defeated Michigan 60-50 at Williams Arena Sunday afternoon to get their 2nd straight win. Jackie Voigt and Kiara Buford each scored 11 points and Kionna Kellogg had 8 points and 13 rebounds for the Gophers.
