The former owner of Goatroper's Bar in Farming Township will avoid prison time after he was sentenced for felony tax crimes today. Forty-two-year-old Anthony Thelen had pleaded guilty to nine felony counts of tax-related crimes.

The owner of a Stearns County bar has pleaded guilty to nine felony counts of tax crimes he was charged with. Anthony Thelen, owner of Goatroper's Bar in Farming Township, has pleaded guilty to nine of the 24 felony counts involving tax returns.

Stearns County Grants Goatropers Bar Liquor License With Conditions Of Revocation

Goatropers Bar & Grill in Farming Township has retained its liquor license even as its owner faces felony charges for failing to pay taxes. Stearns County Commissioners voted in favor of renewing the license for Anthony Thelen with conditions that it be revoked upon any violation of the bar's operation. The license requirement also states that employees must be trained regarding underage sales.
