The parents of a Clearwater girl who lost her battle with Leukemia are keeping her memory alive. Sarah and Kelly Larson started the "Kayleen Larson Legacy Foundation" after their daughter passed away in May 2013.
A group of local friends have been raising some serious money with a lot of fun and games. The non-profit organization "Fat Guys And Hot Chicks Active" has been around for about five years now, and has raised about $40,000.
Some lucky cats and kittens are being saved everyday thanks to a non-profit organization in Sauk Rapids. "Lucky's Place" was started a little over 10 years ago by Jan Hansmeier and her husband. They are a no kill shelter and rescue for cats and kittens.
BriAnna Kruzel of Sartell had a love for volunteer work, and now a non-profit named in her honor is working hard to keep that passion going. Tami and Randy Kruzel formed "What Would Bri Do" after their daughter BriAnna passed away in 2013.
Construction continues on St. Cloud's first Community Outpost, or COP House. Luke Dingman is the St. Cloud Police Sergeant in charge of the outpost. He says, besides himself, there will be four officers assigned to the facility.
There's a non profit organization here in the St. Cloud metro area that's helping to bring a smile to grieving parents. "Owen's Night Out" was formed in 2014. Co-founder Kimberly Magnuson says they started the foundation to honor her son Owen, who died in December 2008.
