St. Cloud City Council members approved a plan proposed by council member George Hontos to reduce fees for building a new home in St. Cloud. The idea came about to kick-start home construction in St. Cloud after lagging home starts in recent years.

St. Cloud City Councilman George Hontos is pitching a plan to his colleagues tonight that's designed to help spur housing development in the city. Hontos is proposing a $1,500 fee reduction on a new single-family home construction. It would be limited to the first 35 applicants and would sunset in October 2013.

St. Cloud City Council to Look Again at Complete Streets Policy

A policy that identifies standards for redeveloping streets will come back before the St. Cloud City Council. The Complete Streets Policy is designed to accommodate pedestrians, transit riders and motorists when making improvements.
