The annoncement took place at Legends Bar and Grill inside the St. Cloud Holiday Inn Tuesday night. Team President and part owner Gary Posch says the name "Rox" was submitted more than 300 times by fans and it's a name he's wanted for St. Cloud for the past 10 years. The St. Cloud Rox were a minor league baseball team in the Northern League in New York Giants, San Francisco Giants and Chicago Cubs systems from 1946 to 1971.

Posch and Sexton are part-owners of the Willmar Stingers of the Northwoods League and own Brandl Motors together.

That's according to sources close to the situation. Joel Sutherland has owned the River Bats since they came to St. Cloud in 1997. Posch is already a part owner of the Willmar Stingers in the Northwoods League.
