The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is warning hikers and mountain bikers that heavy rain during the month of May has washed out some trails. Boaters are also being warned that the state's second-wettest May on record has created rising water levels at boat landings.

Repairs to a ruptured sewer main underneath Stearns County Road 1 between St. Cloud and Sartell have been completed, but the road remains closed.

Forecasters say the risk of significant flooding in the Red River Valley is much lower than it's been in recent years because there's been so little snow this winter.

Stearns County has a reminder for homeowners whose property was damaged by high water or flooding this summer. Stearns County wants residents to know that if your shorelines and structures were damaged because of high water you may need a permit before doing any work.

Private well owners who have seen their wells impacted by flooding need to take some precautions. The Stearns County Environmental Health Department says wells contaminated with flood water can pose health risks.

There's a chance for storms late Tuesday into Wednesday as a warm front moves across the state. Some of the storms may be severe.

The swollen Sauk River continues to cause headaches for area rescue crews. The St. Cloud Fire Department was called to the river today after two men freed-up a sunken rescue boat that eventually got stranded on a bridge abutment.

The Flood Warning for the Sauk River in St. Cloud will continue until Monday morning. The river is at 6.6 feet today (Wednesday). Flood stage is 6 feet.

The heat and mugginess continues across Minnesota. Excessive heat warnings continue through Wednesday with hot days and warm nights. And that brings the risk of strong to severe thunderstorms, as well, especially this afternoon and tonight.

Minor flooding is expected in St. Cloud next week as the Sauk River rises above flood stage for the second time this year.
