Hunting and fishing fees in Minnesota are on the verge of going up. Minnesota House and Senate lawmakers have agreed to a boost a range of fees to help bolster wildlife resource management.
Gov. Mark Dayton and Lt. Gov. Yvonne Prettner Solon are now licensed for Saturday's fishing opener. The first-term governor picked up his fishing license at the Department of Natural Resources headquarters in St. Paul on Wednesday. He was accompanied by Natural Resources Commissioner Tom Landwehr.
It would cost you more to go fishing and hunting in Minnesota under a proposal to hike license fees. The DNR is pitching the plan because they say the Game and Fish Fund is expected to have a deficit by 2014.
