By as soon as next year a St. Cloud metro area church will be offering a different option other than a traditional cemetery burial. The First United Methodist Church in Sartell has been raising money to create a memorial garden which will include a scattering area for ashes and bricks where you can honor your loved ones.
A Sartell church has announced plans to create a unique garden. The First United Methodist Church is developing a master plan for the western portion of their campus that includes a multi-faceted garden sanctuary with a memorial garden, a large patio with wood-fired bread oven, outdoor worship and concert space, and a labyrinth.
There's a plan to redevelop a parking lot, and the site of an empty church, in downtown St. Cloud. During their regular meeting on Monday night, the city council will hear a plan for the city to enter into an agreement with Inventure Properties.
A church near downtown St. Cloud will hold it's last service at that location tomorrow (Sunday). The First United Methodist Church at 302 Fifth Avenue South has a service scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
