DNR Issues Northern Minnesota Burning Restrictions
The Department of Natural Resources is placing temporary burning restrictions on much of northern Minnesota because of fire danger. Monday's forecast calls for warm conditions with low humidity and moderate winds throughout most of Minnesota. While a cold front is expected to move in and lower temperatures, the DNR says winds are likely to increase and keep fire danger high.
More DNA Testing Planned For Invasive Carp
The search for invasive Asian carp in the St. Croix and Mississippi rivers enters a new phase in the coming week. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and other agencies will conduct a new round of environmental DNA testing, and this time it will include the Minnesota River.
DNR Taking Comments On Stearns County Aggregate Resources
The DNR is now taking public comment on draft maps for Stearns County's aggregate resources. The county board of commissioners asked the DNR to map the county's sand, gravel and crushed stone deposits to better plan for future zoning and also to identify local, low-cost sources of these minerals.
