Stearns County is leading by example when it comes to providing a quick response for someone suffering from a cardiac emergency.

Everyday Heroes -- A new WJON weekly series spotlighting those who put their life on the line everyday to keep our communities safe. This week's story features the Stearns County Dispatch Office.

The Minnesota State Patrol is closing it's dispatch center here in St. Cloud. The plan to merge the office with the one in Roseville has been in the works for a few years, but today (Wednesday) they officially announced the transfer date of September 12th.

Stearns County dispatchers are now handling calls for the St. Cloud Fire Department. The move to shift dispatch services from the fire department over to the county was made last October, but today (Tuesday) is the first day for the switch.
